ALBERT PARK MINIMALIST GARDEN
Albert Park, Victoria
Adhering strictly to minimalist principles that influenced the design of this house, the garden uses only three plants: Upright Silver Birches, Asiatic Jasmine and Blue Echerveria succulents. Large aggregate crushed rock forms a modern ground cover from which emerges an ‘urban copse’ of birches. Twisty, organic and slightly ‘messy’ birches were deliberately selected as a foil to the clean smooth lines of the house. The juxtaposition of man-made and natural creates a pleasing dialogue.
