RIPPONLEA FLOWERING GARDEN

Ripponlea, Victoria

This garden is a plant-lovers delight. With a soft palette of pinks, purples, whites and pale yellows, the mood is soft and soothing. Unlike many perennial gardens that die back in winter, most of the flowering plants in this garden have evergreen foliage to maintain a winter effect of texture and form. With space enough for vegetable gardens, an in-ground trampoline and a synthetic turf basketball space, we kept these less attractive (but highly practical) elements at the rear of the garden and screened them off with a wild abundance of tall grasses (Calamagrostis ‘Karl Foerster’) and tall flowering plants like Verbena bonariensis. From the house it’s all flowers, lawn and sparkly pool.
